Yes, 100%. Coto School Finder operates under our parent company, Coto World Ltd., which also runs Coto Academy and Coto Japanese Institute. Our team includes both Japanese and international staff, many with firsthand experience helping foreigners study in Japan, and many who’ve studied abroad themselves.

So how do we do it? Coto School Finder has partnerships directly with schools. The arrangement is between the school and us, not you. We believe students shouldn’t have to carry the burden of an agent fee just to learn Japanese.

Keep in mind that because the student visa application often requires proof of 150 Japanese study hours or a JLPT N5 certificate, we might recommend courses from our sister school, Coto Academy, or other programs. No. We match students at every level, from complete beginners to advanced learners. You don’t need high Japanese proficiency to use our service, but we do recommend having at least JLPT N5-level Japanese, as this is a requirement for many Japanese language schools and student visa applications. 

How long does the matching process take?

It varies, but we typically schedule a consultation within two weeks of receiving your inquiry and get back to you with school recommendations as soon as possible after that. The full application process, from consultation to enrollment, generally takes about 6 months, so we recommend reaching out early. 

Is there really no fee at any point?
